Day 123: Four months living in London (and I still feel like a tourist!)

London just never stops being amazing. I’ve been living here exactly four months and I thought that I knew the central parts of the city pretty well: I’ve been to the museums, the parks, the pubs and the tube. Now, I can walk through central London without a turistic map and without the feeling that I am just another tourist.

Today was one of those days that London amazed me even more. I walked from Kings Cross to this new area -new for me, of course- called Little Venice. It is located only meters away from Paddington Tube Station, and just by the name of the place you can imagine what is so magic and new about this place. It has a main canal that goes up to Camden Town, and that has many bridges, a beautiful towpath, cafés and several motorized gondolas. There is even a waterbus service that takes you up to the London Zoo and the Camden Lock.

Walking there was a long walk, -a little less than five kilometers- but it was totally worth it. I went there with two good friends, and what usually happens when you are with people you like is that time -and distance- goes by so fast that suddenly we were there. Even when it rained all the way there, it was really an amazing day. We talked about everything and time wasn’t enough for the three of us.

I realize that after four months living here, sometimes I still feel like a tourist, but being surrounded with people that I like and discovering this amazing city, I can now call this place as my home.
